There's been a lot of bad press for us lefties over the years. The word "sinister" is derived from the Latin "sinistra" which means "left". And dexterous, meaning skilful, comes from the Latin "dexter" meaning "right".
Similar with French words - gauche in English means clumsy but in French translates to left
- adroit means nimble, but in French "À droit" means right.
And yes, I *have* thought about this a lot!!

"Widdershins" means anticlockwise (I think) and was associated with witches, - maybe the direction in which they danced round their cauldron.

Star, welcome back
I'm in Perth next week for a few days with work. Assumed it would take bloody ages to get there, but the train is only 5.5 hours from Sheffield. How strange. I've got my hat with corks on and an inflatable crocodile. Any other tips? Fleecy?
Rest day for me after an epic January.

It’s tough being left handed. I’ve also got a bit of brown in one of my otherwise grey eyes. If this was the Middle Ages, I’d have been burnt for being a witch by now.

Star is back
forgot all else - except that I was pretty much ambidextrous until I smshed my left wrist at 11/12. I cans till write left handed, but it's even more untidy that my right handed scribble. Daughter is very left handed and is forever cursing can openers - she can manage most other things
