Only my second ever ultra! Tough day out at Speyside Way. Great organisation and marshalling, lovely route and top atmosphere. Lots of lovely fetchies - _andy on way up, Nywanda and man, weekatiepea and man, hamster1207, mr and mrs shanksi supporting and Bonio too. So what's not to like? Just that I was really sore and knackd from early on. Picked up pace towards the end a bit, but having started slowly I was hoping that it would feel easy. But same as Dundee mara and even Strathearn, just pooped from early on. Maybe I'd be better off just setting off at a good pace e.g. under 8:00s and seeing how I get on? Might do better. Anyway, on reflection, 24th place, under 6 hours is OK for only second ultra, first in 3 years and only 2nd ever run over 30 miles and 3rd over mara distance ever!?
Lovely to have my mum and Mrs S(rrr) up. They were tops. x :-)G

Only your second ultra...? It seems it's been longer than that. Nice one!
