Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Hot! Hot! Hot!
Aiming for as close to 2 hours as I could and really pleased with this final time.
Averaging about 9mm for first 8 or 9 miles. Then the heat got the better of me. Not sure if it was because it was getting hotter or because I was running tired but it was really hard work. Running through treacle rings a bell! Spent so much time drinking water or tipping water over me to find the benefit only seemed to last 30 secs. Must have ran through 20 super-soakers!!! Decided at 9 miles to jog/ walk the final 4 miles. Gav kept it very regimented though- 4 1/2 min jog 30 second walk. If I had been on my own it wold have probably been the other way round!
On a positive note- lovely course (shame about the ups on the underpasses!) taking in a lake and the canals. (I was running quicker than the barges!) brilliant support all the way round the course and loads of water available!!! I am presuming every runner had at least 4 bottles if not more!!!
Note to self- garmin registered as 13.24 miles so it wasn't 2.11 for last 0.1m!!!! Mile nine included a stop!

Just seen that I was 86th lady!!!! Not bad!!
8.50, 8.53, 9.05, 8.55, 9.00, 8.49, 9.10, 9.13, 10.05, 9.42, 10.00, 9.26, 10.12, 2.11

Well done Frizzle, you were really unlucky with the weather and on a cooler day not only will you easily do sub 2 but I think hit around 1.55, no problem x

Good run in the weather. Sub 2 hours would have been made if the weather had been kinder. Count it as a practice for the GER, which shouldn't be as hot.
Please wait... saving your change.
