god I felt awful! felt ridiculously tired in the taper but was told that was normal, but then felt exactly the same in the race, had nothing in my legs, I do want to do another marathon but something's got to change in training in order to achieve my potential, which I do believe is sub-3, got a lot of thinking to do..

It really was tough out there! Still a good time though Ruth. Championship place. My decision (If I do another marathon!) is to run my long runs alot slower so I actually run for 3hrs and get used to running for that time rather than worry about how far I go.

Hey ruthy, so strange we had the same experience! I think there's alot to be said for time on feet, ie some really slow runs for longer than your target marathon time. I don't have the answer!! It's so frustrating. You still did great though, of you felt like me, just to get through and finish!! Xx
