New Personal Best!! A really enjoyable race. A felt really strong throughout and pushed hard at the end. Consistently accelerating where possible and overtaking many other competitors was a real driving force but perhaps I could have started faster. I originally thought I would not be able to make sub 1:30 and lost sight of the pacer at beginning of the race but came back to find and better that milestone marker. The knowledge once I had seen this pacer and realising I was on course to do better was a great booster!
I came 87th overall out of 2000+ competitors and nearly ran into Dame Kelly Holmes at the end whom I received my race medal from. I had started not too far from the front and consistently overtook others so a little surprised at the position but many other good runners out there, for instance 5 mins difference (a difference I did not think I could achieve with my own estimated time, but did) would have taken me into the top 30.
