Lantern pike fell race Hayfield Good turn out for race today 200 plus, set off at 2 oclock sharp and soon was confronted with our first obstacle the deluge of rain had caused, very steep muddy drop followed by muddy flat then a sharp muddy climb!!onto road next, crossed over and started our gradual mini climb 2 mile gone so far.Mile 3 was tricky quite narrow rocky descent, did not enjoy lost a few places here.Mile 4 was the steep ascent up to the pike held my place on the climb!!!!!!Last three quarters of a mile downhill was good fast running, then the last bit was a little uphill climb which took all out of my legs, and too make things worse the muddy hill at the start had to be negotiated again......stayed on my feet and stumbled over the finish line.Weather was dredful, top of the pike we had hailstones clattering into us...... ouch!!!!!Cracking race results not out yet not sure where i finished.
