Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Cader Idris Fell race 2927ft - Blimey, after bank holiday traffic and caravans galore, I nearly missing the start, just about managed to enter on the day in time for the off. AND BOY! Did I forget how tough that first climb out on the road is before you've even got to the mountain, near vertical road for about 1.5 miles, before hitting bog and tree routes by the lake. Then knee deep marsh field. Was quite glad to get on to the mountain, headed up, walking quite a bit, running when I could. Got to the cut off with plenty of time and met the 1st runner further up than before, an attepted run across the boulders, then got to the summit in 1.30 and that when I came into my own, all the people I'd been struggling to catch up, I past in about 30 seconds, then caught another group, and picked a few more off on the desent. Felling chuffed, but very hot and thirsty, stopped at the bottom for water, and lost 2 places. Then sugar crash, over the marsh field and muddy track, ran walked as thats all I could muster, I felt shot routed in bag til I found a musedh up little cheap version of a snickers, ate half and within 10 mins could run again, caught another 1 up on the tarmac descent and pleased to finish to claps and cheers. Very friendly, and I just love this type of running:-) 20 mins+ off 2007s time and I was no where near last. Fucking great day out :-)
Please wait... saving your change.
