Notes & Comments
VLM: didn't sleep too well last night so nervous on the way down of feeling tired on run. Bus dropped us off at Blackheath and time went quick at Blue start with emma-art, shopgirljules, disco dave, patrick, richard for company. My offical pen was 5 and emma-art was 4 so we snuck into 3 just because we could. Was not far from start so didn't take long to reach and first mile 9.11 which included couple of bottlenecks. next few miles by garmin were -8.30 ish so too fast as ideally wanted to stick to 8.50 to 9 (not sure if garmin was correct now) Miles went pretty quickly and although sun was now fully out we grabbed water at every station. Got to Tower Bridge and knew it was countdown from there. Saw Barry and crew marshalling which gave me a boost but m.16 quads started to tighten and could feel every step. Counted one mile at a time and when got to 20 was ahead of schedule by about 2.5 mins and thought there is no way I can slow down and miss sub 4 now so had to keep going as was! Not sure how i made 25 but knowing 1 mile to go and we could still get under 4 spurred me on despite v tired legs. So in the end I achieved my target and more (which hasn't quite sunk in yet). thanks to emma-art again for draggin me round! Bring on 5 and 10K's for the summer!!
uploaded garmin but not sure how accurate splits are.
