Notes & Comments

The Woldsman, LDWA...my second 50 this year, and having knocked 1hr & 6mins off my time I was very pleased! After a cosy nights camping with Richard we set off with the masses at 8am. Although the tent had been iced over in the morning, it was clear this was going to be another beautiful day. Met up with Roderick, a guy I’d met at Norfolk, and we teamed up for the day to share life stories, thoughts on doing the 100 (only 6 weeks away!), & to push each other on. The only trouble with the route was that it was so runable!!! I have never been so happy to see a hill so I could take a walking break ;-) A bit like last weekend it was hot, and I ended up drinking too much & feeling sick. Still a learning curve not to over hydrate. Trotted around steady, but consistently. Well looked after by wonderful marshals, I have made a new discovery...jelly & mandarins. Mum please bring supply to meet me with around the 100!!! An eventual return to base in 11.41, where Richard awaited me having completed in 9.45, an incredible come back from him. A lovely lentil hot pot before the drive home and the pair of us crawled in to bed. Another wonderful day out.
