Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Woohoo PB!!! Was running well until about 9 miles and then my cheap non-duracell batteries ran out very quickly (just like the adverts) with the last 4 miles averaging 6:24 minute miles. I thought sub 1:20 was a goner until half way round the track, a glance at the clock and a sprint finish just dipping under. After a farcical false start were the countdown went 5,4,3,2,1...everyone expected GO but oh no not in EK a Councillor buts in with his own countdown of 3,2,1 but the race had already started with the front runners getting to about 100m before being called back. With a field of 1800 runners it is not easy to get everyone back behind the start line. Starting lapping 10K runners before they reached the 3K marker and on the big hill on the 2nd lap there were literally hundreds of IPod wearing walkers completely oblivious and showing no consideration to runners trying to pass. It was easier just to play chicken with on-coming traffic on the other side of the road than try to weave in and out.
