Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

*Liverpool Half Marathon* breakfast - porridge and honey, and glass of milk; bite of energy bar pre race, some sips of Powerade and 2 ibuprofen; real aches and pains in ankles and calves pre race; no iPod for race; set off from 10-11min/mile group; immediate aches meant slowing down; very tough 1st few miles, due to aches/pains; slowing down helped, as did texting; joined by fetchie at 3 to 4mile mark, kept pace from thereon; some conversation and using a pacer helped distract from aches; very sunny weather, always sipped drink at water stations; last few miles, every sprint was short-lived due to aches/pains, despite breathing feeling good; ended race with final sprint; kept walking for a bit post race; immediately had a couple of oranges from organiser; sat down for a few minutes with pacer fetchie to rest legs; legs remarkably better than previous half races, though ankles aches hard; post race drink (Coke) and banana and raspberry flapjacks with fetchies; banana Rego (500ml) drunk; dinner was hours later, chicken curry; 90min nap with legs resting up; slowest time recorded but satisfying to run non stop and finish, inspite of buggered ankles/calves; lovely race, lovely fetchies, beautiful Liverpool :)
