Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

a PB attempt, but more to try out the planned pace for St Neots half next week. Planned to run even 7:47 splits,

Got off to a slow start in the crowd and down a bit the first mile, but soon dropped into a pace that was about right. Mile 2-4 were quite hilly, especially mile 2 up Alpacca Hill, and pace varied with incline. Miles 3-5 were into a strong headwind. Mile 6 was sheltered and flat, so took advantage of this, as did many people, to put in a fast mile.

Second lap was much the same, without the visit to Alpacca Hill, but with a stronger headwnid around the second half. had obviously paced it about right, and had loosened up too, as splits were faster. At 5 miles my average pace was 7:49, and pulled it back to 7:46 by the end.

Even managed a 7:32 for the final mile which includes the hill up to the boat house & cafe :)

Had a bit left at the end too, which bodes well for St Neotts.

Ran in blue shoes and feet were fine all teh way around. I've got a sore ankle now, and the piriformis is playing up again, but unless my knees feel it tomorrow I think I'll be running the HM in little blue shoes :) Hammie was OK. ITB might have niggled, or it might have been down to the pirif.

It's also the most acurate I've had a garmin record a race - only 0.01M over.
