Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Crikey that was hard going. Felt tired from the start, and after 5 miles felt really sluggish. Just the sailing in the morning and not eating properly? Needed 10.1 for 100 for the month, and wasn't going to stop at 8 anyway. Planned to go up Benarty and the ridge, so parked nearest, along lochside, up Harran hill and at Benarty, the steps have been removed, but usual bits of walk and run up there. Tried to take it easy along ridge and down, but still didn't feel any better. Lovely views as always, windy but mild, threatening rain but sun stayed out. Never believe the weather forecast, just go! Coming down the rocky road, decided to try and find the way back on to the Avenue via Balingry village. Nice path in woods parallel to road so that was a bonus, not having to run on road. In village missed a pedestrian turning but found the road I thought might get me there. Turned right a bit early on to a path, but it soon joined The Avenue, and brought me out where expected in the cow field above the loch. Thought the cows were off to one side until I encountered two round a corner, but they were happily eating away. Back down at loch it was only 5 miles on the watch, so had to loop through the paths in the trees to add a bit on. Even so, reckoned might only be 9.5 by end and so it was. So 0.3 along to my sis's house and back to make 10.1. Overdid it slightly at 10.17 as total now said 100.1. No matter! Absolutely shattered when back home. Beans and cheese on toast and athletics on telly for rest of pm! :-) G
