Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Cardiff Half Marathon - can't believe how well this went on the back of an injury, no running for weeks and only 3M and 2x8M under my belt in last week or so (all of which involved walking or stopping). Really did begin this thinking I would come in around 2:15 and most definitely get a p.w. Ran first 6M with the crowd (seriously doubting myself for the first 2M in particular) and was feeling a little tired (legs not breathing) at mile 6. However, another lady running alongside me at this stage seemed in a far worse state and I decided I was actually ok. Had to psyche myself from here and told myself to get to 8M maintaining the 8:30 pace I seemed to have maintained. When I got to 8M I persuaded myself I could get to 10M and from there I would run/walk. Got to 10M and didn't like the look of 9:something on my watch for the lap time, so picked up the pace a little again to what it had previously been. Got to 11M and was SOOOOO pleased with how things had gone it would be a shame to mess it up by walking. So I just kept on running and got to the finish line feeling quite good :-)
8:31, 8:24, 8:41, 8:20, 8:37, 8:34, 8:23, 8:39, 8:29, 8:36, 8:51, 8:49, 8:36, 7:54(0.1M)
