Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Donkey Brae 7 miler. My first time doing this. Great day out. Loads of Harmenies, as it was a club Grand Prix, I think. 25 of us maybe? And families, kiddies (I gave my medal to Kim K to give to her other daughter Freya who didn't have one!) Nice stalls and things in a park. Occasional showers but mostly sunshine. Parked at Dalgety Bay then took train to Aberdour because we'd been told parking would be a problem. Not sure it was a problem though! Nice meet up on train, but crazy early because only 1 train per hour. Registered by 11am, race wasn't until 1pm! But saw loads and had chat. Bought a Lucozade sport back up at shop (didn't fancy a burger or candyfloss!) Club pics before, wee warm up with Keith and Craig. Back into the start area and off we go. Started a bit back as always, but to be honest, not easy to move through as we went into wee paths. But that's fine, no harm in starting slowly. Picked it up after a mile or so as it opened out. Downs and ups though and struggling on the ups. A couple of wee steep ones. By 3 miles I could see I was only hitting 7:00 not 6:4x or 6:5x that I was hoping for. But didn't drop the head, kept pushing as best as poss. Wasn't passed by anyone, I don't think, and picked up a bit from 5 miles. Last little climb up steps was a night mare and took me a few hundred metres to recover. Lost 1 place, but made another couple back up. Told Kirsty to push on because she was being caught by a BMF lady. Good chat after and cheering a few more in. Then off for a cool down with Damo and returned to Dalgety Bay to get my car. Wasted the 2.50 return ticked (bought in error, though return was same price as single!) :-) G

I was 52nd in 49:06. Happy enough with that.
