Notes & Comments

Provisional until I get my Garmin back... left in changing room at Forfar Multi Terrain.

Great day out as always. My 8th consecutive FMT half mara. Drove up with Craig McK and Jon W (Corrie n Seona bailed), other car was Col, Gavin R, Keith and Ross.

Ross was always going to be first - 1:31, nice! I was second Harmeny. Happy enough with the run. Started as hard as I could, struggled in middle, thought I was going to die and lose places up the hill and in the mud, but held off a Fife and a Dunblane who I'd been trading places with from about 6 miles. The water feature was cold, but not too deep. Still doing the detour route, but they added on a few hundred metres at the end to make it the full 13.1 which I think is good. Even though running into the wind on the extra bit made me think I might lose my couple of places! Kept me pushing right to the end though.

Great to see lots of friends. I got name checked by a few folk whose names I didn't know. Always a bit embarrassing, but it turned out it was Ewan and Nari from the kilt run at Callanish stones marathon. I guess I was all over the papers, so maybe not surprising! Lovely to see weekatiepea and Ali. Keyring too. Robbo777, all the usual suspects!

So, what does it tell me about my pace? No idea, cos not really a course comparable with anything else, not even itself. But I enjoyed pushing myself! :-) G
