Bushfield Frostbite (5m)

Started raining just before the start, which is not ideal.

I paced this one horribly, start was too fast, so I spent mile 2 recovering.

Lots of turns in mile 4 slowed that bit down. Plus I have virtually no tread on my purecadence now, (might retire them to purely training runs and start a fresh pair for races), so I took it easy round the corners.

Managed a stronger finish though, was catching other runners in the 2nd half which shaved a bit off my time.

Overall I finished 8th and am happy with the result.

Course was probably short (I heard it was accurately measured this year), so not an exact reflection on where I am form wise.

It was measured acurataly Anthony and certified. Its spot on. There were many points wher runners could cut corners and not follow the racing line which I suspect people did :-)

Haha, it wasn't exactly clear where the racing line was! I hope you're not accusing me of anything :)
anthonyj89
Realistically though, my garmin probably lost signal in the woody bit

AJ -fair comment, hadn't thought of that, interesting though I had 5.02 but I'm a geek and was looking at the line

Also a GPS only takes a measurement every few seconds and such will shorten the distance at corners. If the GPS points are accurate then the distance given will always be short as it assumes a straight line between them.

Great race yet again, would have let the accuracy lie and enjoyed another big step forward!
