Blister After the 800m I had a nasty cough but it faded slightly by the start. The race started at 3:30pm and it was SO HOT (around 25-28 degrees). There were only 4 of us doing the race, one guy who was a 16min 5K runner. Right from the start I was placed 3rd and ran the whole thing on my own. I am really p*ssed off with the crap time, it's pafetic really I should have at least ran 18:20 but I think there were 4 things that stopped me doing this: 1) It was very hot and I can't run in the heat 2) I drank too much before the start and it was sloshing around in my stomach 3) I was on my own the whole was so couldn't pace it or push that hard 4) I don't think running an 800m race before is very good preparation! Oh well, at least there is a next time and hopefully it won't be so hot, plus it was my first track race. Splits: 1.24, 1.26, 1.29, 1.31, 1.32, 1.35, 1.35, 1.34, 1.36, 1.34, 1.32, 1.23 - according to the official results I did 18:30!
