Gobi I headed off to the Southwick Parkrun which is in Trowbridge. Driving there I realised I had forgotten my race shoes so I had to run in my Nike Free V5. Bit slippy in the mud but largely ok. On this rolling trail course a fast time was not on but I was looking for a race. On the start I saw this young lady http://www.thepowerof10.info/athletes/profile.aspx?athleteid=5229 who was more than happy to give me what I wanted. We were clear of the field after a km with no more than 5 metres between us all the way through. Felt I was in control in the kms 1/2/3 but she hit the front heading out towards 4kms and suddenly I had to raise my effort to stay in touch. Managed to stay close, with about 300 metres to go there is a slight rise and I kicked for home winning in 18.03. Pace went to sub 5 min mile pace near the end and heart rate went close to max so safe to say I was working hard. Happy with the effort as I am still around 77kgs.
