Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

FairWeatherRunner First parkrun in sheffield. The course to me feels slightly flatter than in Durham. It is my first parkrun outside of sunderland. Much bigger event 160 people. As we ran there was much less encouragement from the marshalls. It was almost like they were silent as you ran [ast. Not a bit of applause. Half hearted encouragement from the marshalls unlike the sunderland event/.

A new PB by a mile. I did not seek to smash my PB or break the 25 minute barrier, but somehow, I did. I ran it withou looking at my watch. But ran it as hard as I could. Just listened to my body. Also, controlled myself from running too fast in the start.

Later on like after the 1st km, started overtaking people. Need the competitive mindset to overtake people in spurts.

And then a final sprint to the finish.

I think a large elemt of running faster is mental. Mental that you can run that fast at that pace over 5km. Also, I noticed that I should train to run faster in my training for longer.

Then after parkrun, went to rejoin parents in adrian's place for dim sum. ahhh!!
