DANBERT I’m not allowing myself to get giddy here. Yes, this is the best I have run in a cross country race for ages, but I’ve been running long enough now to know that in reality there is very little difference between what I consider to be a good run and a bad run. Today a good run meant that I accomplished just a little more than I expected (I was over a minute up the field from a fortnight a go) but there is nothing more certain than the fact that I will have bad runs in the future compared to this, where in reality I will have achieved just a little less than I expected. Today was a good day everything felt right but I know that I will now have made myself a target for some of the lads that I beat today some of whom will just have had bad days
