Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

connelld The race started pretty fast and I struggled to keep with the crowd at the beginning. I ran beside Mark Livingstone, but a few minutes into the race and the front four runners were well out of catching distance. After slowly passing Mark, I tried to catch up with ClaireT who was running just behind Douglas Robertson. After a while I managed passed them, trying to maintain a sensible pace with no one else at this point I could target.

Although I had kept to the main road, 6-7 miles into this flat leg, I could see no one in front and no one behind and panic set in that perhaps I had gone the wrong way. A cyclists went by and I asked if they were runners behind me and he told me they were. On the 9th Mile there was a really short sharp hill but it was over in second. Overall 5 for this leg, so pleased with my time.

ClaireT I think this might be one of the better legs of the relays, but don't tell anyone. Nice scenic route with only two hilly bits, the toughest being around 9 miles just when the legs are really tiring. Very hot and muggy today. My time includes a 25s emergency stop around mile 5! Our ladies team won their race, and I finished 1st lady in this leg, around 3 minutes behind conneld who whipped past me and off into the distance 1 mile into the race! Garmin measures around 11.14 miles so looks a bit shorter than advertised.
