MacDaz The 2pm start caused me problems on two fronts. 1) I always find it difficult to judge my food intake. Getting the balance between having the energy to run and not having too much floating around in my stomach. I got it wrong! 2) The heat. It was proper B@$tard hot and what started out as a sub 45 finished as it did, but very nearly finished in the sea at about 4 miles. It was the hardest race I've ever run and the closest I've ever come to stopping. Still, No real speed training, not enough grub and the hottest day of the year and I still managed a PB. I really, really want a time that starts with 45 though.

Tia Bliddy hot, threw PB plan out the window when heat caught up with me on 2nd lap!! Oh well, I know I have a better time in me than my current PB, will have to save it for next time!

onthedeck Well it was exceptionally warm, the clouds seemed to disappear as we started off. I got through 5k in 25.00, the second lap was a disaster the heat really took its toll, could easily have jumped in the sea at nuerous points. The organisation though was excellent. I would thoroughly recommend that you try this, but hope for a cooler day.
