Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Pericles First thing to say is that this is a fantastic event - I can't understand why it isn't more popular with UK runners! An incredibly beautiful location, superb organisation, a carnival atmosphere, and a range of races to suit everyone. Gorgeous autumnal weather ... clear blues skies, and a slight mist on the lake. Really magical. Only two slight gripes are that the race thinned out (and many of the bands that were lining the route on the Out-leg disappeared on the Back-leg), and the published results don't, for some reason seem to give the Net time. So my recorded time is the Official time - the Net time should have been 9 seconds faster.

I'm pretty happy with my own race - a PB by 3.5 minutes. I had hoped for a couple of minutes faster. The first half was incredibly easy (isn't it always?) - wheels started coming of at about 33km ... steady 4:19 per km dropped to 5:00 for each of the last five kms or so. Still, I seemed to fare better than anyone else around me: my splits were 1:31, 1:36 and yet I spent the whole of the second half overtaking people. The route was gently undulating, but I don't think this had much effect.
