paskha 18th marathon (incs Ultras) Travelled up overnight Friday cos it was the only train I could get an APEX, so I contacted an old school friend living near Oxford St- and visited her at 8:30am Sat! I had also managed to speak to my little bro (born 1957) at the Royal Court where he works, on the previous Weds - I hadn't seen him for over 6 yrs - since 31st Aug 1997 .... we had arranged to meet in a Soho cafe at midday - but I didn't expect him to turn up, as he has made arrangements before to meet Mum & Dad / Annie - and he just doesn't appear. At 12:15pm I was still rooted to the spot outside ... (not the Prima Vera - er, cant remember the name) when he arrived!!! I spent 6 hrs with him, walking right along the South Bank to Tower Bridge where David Blaine was in his box ... not the best preparation for a marathon, but I didn't care, I was so pleased to have seen him (we were very close as teens / 20s in Cornwall, & socialising in same group) I ran quite well to mile 21 - then just died - I was really tired - so PB not possible
