MarkC 4th place! Minute quicker than last year. PB. This is a jolly little event and raises money for a good cause too. The is a very enjoyable romp round the undulating paths of Bagley Wood, taking in (slightly bizarrely) a footbridge across the A34. Not a race for PBs (I don't think it's accurately measured) but definitely one for an interesting route and friendly, small-race atmosphere. This year seemed particularly thin on serious runners (perhaps due to the clash with the Thame CPM 10k) which mostly explains why I improved from 22nd place last year to 4th this year. Yes 4th! Key to being a bit quicker this year (by 1 minute) was getting nicely at the front of the pack at the start (to avoid a scrum getting over the footbridge) but not going too t1ts-out in Mile 1. This enabled me to pick off a few runners in Mile 2 and consolidate my position in Mile 3 to the end. Oh, and my parents in law were marshalling.
