Russell M Wasn't expecting that at all! I'd been looking forward to a relatively flat course in nice summer sunshine with a gentle island breeze - turned out to be constantly undulating, can't remember more than a couple of flattish sections and as for the weather, started off quite nice although with a strong gusty wind but from the half-way point the rain started and the wind picked up further - the rain felt like hailstones the force that it was hitting me with!! Strangely though, I enjoyed the second half far more than the first - when people started fading in the weather I was just getting into my stride and managed to take several places in the last 5k as well as putting in a good sprint finish. Time at the moment is provisional but even though it's at least 3 minutes off my pb I feel that given the conditions it's definitely my strongest half to date :) :) :)
