beders A nice trail race, first 2.5 miles flat along a towpath then ujp into the woods for some welcome relief from the hot sun. Quite undulating, 800 ft ascent with a few stiles to climb. made up 3 places by vaulting the gate on one of them. Nice downhill finish, in 73rd place out of 222. Pleased with my race, even managed a sprint finish to make up another 3 places, one for next year. Was a bit long, 6.46 miles but at least they said that before the race so was expecting it

trazza Enjoyed the race - well marshalled and pleasant course. Hot though and the shade along the second half of course was welcome. Would certainly do it again. First couple of miles are flat along the canal, then gets a bit more interesting. Worse bit for me was last 1/2 mile as I am no good at the cross country bit. Position 35, so not too bad. Though still don't feel like a racer, more of a runner and this showed when I caught up with another woman. She was definitely a racer and quite serious too! Maybe its time I got serious!!!! I may have to learn about speed and interval training.
