Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

emmilou Really muddy, boggy, rocky, slippy, windy and STEEP!! First uphill climb was a bugger - so glad to get to the trig point then a clearish run to checkpoint 1 which was literally a left turn - ruuning around the marshall - then into a headlong wind. Made this next section all the way to checkpoint 2 really tough going - my legs were doing there own thing which wasn't what my head wanted!!

The final climb was hard going really slippy and lots of traffic but the best bit was to come! I branched off to the right away from the crowd and followed a faint trod to begin the descent from a different place. What a good move! Made up quite a few places on this bit and almost through myself down the side of a very steep hill!

the run in was more like cross country many muddy fields and with already very tired legs wasn't great!

My finish though - what can I say - a real crowd pleaser!!
Managed to find enough in my legs for a full sprint downhill in a very muddy slippy field! Don't think my feet and legs have ever run that fast and accoring to the garmin I was 3 minute miling at this point!! THEN - the fall of the century!! Managed to do a full somersault with legs still sprinting landing then sliding stopping just short of the finish! Now if the slide had continued passed the finsh line THAT would have been impressive!!

Wanted to do the run in under 2 hours so was really pleased with the 1:40 finish :-)

however the conclusion from the race is my training SERIOUSLY needs to be increased - bring it on!
