Lefromage I was really looking forward to this race as the last times I did it was 2007 and 2008 with fond memories. So this was going to be my first official run of my recent incarnation. The field was very small and a poor turnout so that meant a drop in the atmosphere and support there. The registration was good and easy to navigate as there was hardly any people. The problems arise with poor marshalling and lack of knowledge about the course. I was not the only one confused by it as some people run extra as they were told wrongly and just did not know what was occurring. I hit a crossroads at one point and asked which way and the Marshall had no idea and just asked how many times I had been up the hill. When I said twice he told me one way and then another Marshall said, No, you need to go this way. So frustrating and annoying. I had gone round the course 2 and a bit times and had 1km to go. Nearly completing this I was then advised to continue on to a Dona third time up the hill but questioned this as I was just about 400 yards off the 10k. Then another Marshall came over and said it ok he need to go this way as I have seen him twice. A total shambles and not nice at all. I eventually got to the end and a child run and got me my medal and I had to go and pick up a """goodie bag""". Diabolical, bag and the content just rubbish, a small pkt of cheese biscuits (not good for a vegan) and an apple, plastic bottle of water and the tiniest pkt of refreshers. I am writing this the next day and no mention of when the results will be up or where. £25 quid is a lot of dosh for me and this was just not up to scratch. My weekly Park runs are so much more organized. So lesson learnt. From my favourite to now my most hated I will give this a miss, I can see why it is badly turned out. A few people actually run the hill 3 times and put an extra couple of km on their run and were fuming, I don't blame them.
