DANBERT I really enjoyed this. It was 'tough' but it was run over a beautiful traffic-free forest trail course (green cycling route clockwise.) The course was over wide, well-surfaced (not tarmac) man-made forest trails with tremendous views of the lakes. The first two miles are hilly (although described as undulating by Ambleside AC. ) To be honest the course had stretches of climbing throughout. For my money this has to be one of the most scenic traffic free course in the country.
