clairevmc Absolutely freezing, have never run a race as cold as this. Nice surprise to get a PB if only by 5 secs but still feel I should be faster given my 10K time. Led the women's race from the gun but after the 1st mile, turned a corner into an arctic blast and was left gasping for breath. I'm just not used to racing in sub-zero temperatures and I felt the American concrete (as opposed to UK tarmac) hard on my feet too. Just had no energy left by half way, it was all sapped up in struggling to breathe. Dropped to 6th, managed to get back to 5th then lost in a sprint at the end to finish 6th female. Happy enough with that though as it was a field of over 2,200. Well organised race and great t-shirt as a souvenir.
