Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Runs With Coyotes My first and potentially only road marathon, so better make it count. Aiming for 2:55. Is that too ambitious for a hilly first marathon at altitude? Time will tell...
Well, a result!!! I didn't do my fitness level justice: should have been just under 2:50, but 2:56:23 wasn't so bad, neither was 7th overall or first master for such a cold hilly race. Took the first half easy, in 1:23:30, and the engine was fine, but after halfway my leg muscles turned SOOO sore. Errors: not enough long road runs in training, a too fast muscle damaging trail descent 2 weeks before the race (5k in 16:30), and too far in super-hot conditions 8 days before the race checking out the route. So the second half of the race was hard on the legs where it shouldn't have been. Engine and lungs felt absolutely fine and unchallenged, but I slowed up to limit worsening extra damage to my leg muscles. But it was all fun, every step, despite that. The coolest thing was how the race itself seemed like a 30 minute run. I never though beyond each mile, and that really helped. Loved it, but never again on a road...
