DaveC2009 Run 1 - 15mins 16s Run 2 - 14mins 44s Total Transition time - 1.30mins First duathlon ever attempted with no bike training before hand. Borrowed a Mountain bike for the event. Run 1 was quite straight forward, but I was always thinking ahead to the next leg and so paced myself. Later found out the course was very poorly measured and the Run was only 3.5km (officials claimed it was 5km). Bike was mostly uphill with a long very steep downhill section at the end (but you covered it within 30s given the speed you could attain). First time in a bike competition and so took it easy, although found myself in maximum gears for majority of the course and so couldn't ride any faster...lost alot of positions as a result. Run 2 was new experience as legs felt numb initially. Managed to find a rythm quite quickly and ran faster than in first run.
