I agree Greppers. 5 races, one a month, October til February. We normally start 2 weeks later. Hopefully, it might mean no mud.

We have a bunch of leagues in Essex - one of which, Essex League, is on Saturdays, starts early and finishes early and is the one the ACs target. Tends to be very little mud.

We're in that, but we target the mid-Essex and 53-12 (North Essex + bits of south Suffolk and SE Cambs) which don't start for quite a while yet I don't think. They have the traditional mud, ditch crossings and stuff and you rarely if ever see an AC on the results list.

The first race is fairly tame. A country park. More glorified summer league than cross country. Second race the same, but with 2 crossings of a deep stream on each lap.
Third race is in Bakewell, hilly with added sheep poo. Fourth race lots of little steep hills and big puddles. Last race is usually a proper mud fest. I say mud, more like liquid slurry. Such fun.

XC:-)

Ours start at Framlingham castle - last year's race in the last weekend of October was about the hottest conditions I raced in all that year. I was not bitter about this, at all...

Found my bike lock key and took the hybrid into town for lunch. I have therefore become a cyclist again.

Believe so we are in Suffolk County League with clubs like Bungay, Bury St Eds, Stowmarket, Felixstowe. Oddly the Ipswich Jaffas do not take part; think they may be in 53-12 or another league.
