We're driving back to Inverness afterwards. I think I'll need a crane to get me out the car. Thankfully I'm not driving - until the next day......

Was thinking of this earlier today - had a bit of a run on the route.
First thoughts - the OCR bit of the course going into Riverside at 19.5 and 23.5 miles (ish) - this could be awkward.
If you don't know it, this is the underpass leaving the roundabout. run to the left and you'll either have to hurdle the barrier whilst ducking to avoid braining yourself... or immediately swerve right - better line is of course to the right, but it's not a place to be over-taking.

And emerging from the other side of the tunnel, best to keep left for a the ramp, but beware the nasty pot-holes here. If you like steps, go to the right. If it's busy, just be patient.
After heading through there, I took the lovely riverside path up the Allan water to Dunblane and ran the section from 8 miles to almost 14 miles (minus the hilly Stirling Uni section). The undulations towards mile 9 weren't so bad and fresher legs at that point should make it pass easily.
The descent into Bridge of Allan is going to be great - such a nice downhill gradient - will look forward to that bit.

GreatRun could have paid to have them removed and replaced by some gate type things that can be opened as required (but is lockable so local neds cant interfere). Ive sen these around various places. Wouldnt have cost too much

It's suggested (buried somewhere on Great Run's Facebook page) that the metalwork should be getting sorted before race day. The lorries were only out laying down the surface at the finish area this morning, so they may still get to it!

Let's hope so Fergus - there was very new tarmac pavement next to the A9 roundabout (at mile 9) - so I'd guess that we'll get directed onto that so that the roundabout traffic is not disrupted - very sensible.

Sure there was talk of re routing the underpass section up onto the road but it may not have happened!! I run the riverside route a fair bit but never really run the underpasses at speed, mainly due to the blind corners into them where cyclists don't tend to slow much!! (might add i run in the cycling lane to avoid the barriers)

I think the metalwork in the underpasses will disappear this week.
there has been a flurry of roadworks around stirling/ dunblane in the last couple of weeks - they've being making a path at the side of the Keir roundabout going from Dunblane to B o A. They've also been patching up around causewayhead as well.
We live about a mile from the finish - there is now a generator and a portacabin in the finish area.
I really hope its a fab event - Stirling is a beautiful city.

The first published map had the race routed out over the old (cobbled) bridge and back over the new bridge. I presume objections that around 10000 people would be completely cut off during the race resulted in the change to the underpasses route.
By my calculations at peak flow around 90 people will be passing any given point in this section each minute. That sounds a lot, but if runners were evenly spaced there would be around a 1.5m gap between each. So not all that crowded. Of course, actual runners won't click by in quite such an organised manner and the matter is complicated by having two-speed flows. But my takeaway is that, provided people don't behave like dickheads there, all will be well.
(I am presuming that those barriers will be removed. There is really no way they cannot be.)
I think that it will be a tremendous event. The bit before the Uni, I hope everyone takes a few moments to look out across the fields to the Castle. Beautiful and inspiring. (Just set aside that there's still a bit more than half the race to go ;-).)
