Now this is something that I could get excited about.

Lost me there Joopsy. I think that all clubs have complete and utter idiots. We lost at Blackpool and the number of ITFC fans that are calling for Lamberts head is massive.
And yet the same fans calling for his head will be shouting his name with great passion if we get promoted by via the Play-offs at Wembley.
I think this is a valid statement.

Nellers, once fans start talking about FFP, finance, etc, etc, they have lost it.
For me it is all what happens on the pitch, at 3 pm, on a Saturday, everything else is irrelevant.

My point was FR that Ipswich fans would be displaying the same kind of arrogance that the the scousers are accused of, that United fans used to be when we won most games and that city fans (wah wah wah UEFA hates us) display.

But you don’t mind Saudis coming and ploughing billions into a team to try and clean their name up and distract from the monstrous shit they get up to? As long as they get Pep in and play great football and become the ‘Manchester’ club who gives a shit?
I detest the Glazers but if the Saudis bought United I’m done, meanwhile you stand clapping like a giant seal at your new favourite team.

Not sure I follow Joopsy. The evil Saudi's have ploughed money into developing a deprived part of Manchester. And brought redevelopment outside of football to a community.
Is anybody with money truly clean?
He without sin cast the first stone?

And most 'true' fans are not arrogant, but self-depreciating. Everybody knows that success is but short, failure is long.
And I remind you of that validity of this statement.

I get that football is feelings and emotions and belonging and romance and all that, and yes, I'd love Leicester to win the league with a squad of local lads who came through our academy and are just like me and my mates, only better at football. It would be lovely.
Except that it was never like that and it never will be will it? OK someone's going to mention Celtic but the very fact that they're always the ones that get mentioned tells you how often it worked like that.
It was always about who had the most financial resources so could afford the best players, and they found ways round the wage caps, don't think that they didn't.
It's just that now the numbers are bigger and the potential pitfalls are deeper, and the owners are therefore internationally, globally (sometimes evil) rich men rather than just the heartless owners of the town mill.
We're all guilty of being OK with it when the money arrives for our club, we always were. Hypocrites, the lot of us. We should be ashamed.
Still, football eh? Bloody hell.

I remember the glory days of '81. But they will never return.
