*less* would have worked more than *more* and I’ll be sure to do it that way round when I repeat my joke once I’ve actually read the book.

Visconti's film version was controversial - few had imagined it as a musical.

The Count's barnstorming rendition of "Ramalamalampedusa!" whilst swinging between chandeliers in the ballroom scene particularly was one step too far for many critics.

There is a Rabbit Islet off the coast of Lampedusa. Not a single rabbit lives there. (Or a leopard)

No one’s going to actually read the book, are they?

I’m approximately 1/3 to 1/2 way through. Thoughts so far are that it is a) very good, and b) very accomplished, and yet I’m sure sure I shall finish it. The author has suddenly (unless I wasn’t paying attention earlier) introduced a number anachronistic insights from his own contemporary perspective (references to jet planes, Freud, and delayed sewer programmes). I found this jarring, unless there is a yet to be revealed purpose. You didn’t see Mantell making reference to HS2 in Wolf Hall.

You need to hold Wolf Hall up to UV light to see that.

I'm 2/3 through, I can see why Chrisull chose this. Very intriguing story so far.

Count Duckuloni di Borgia is an apparently urbane, aristocratic playboy by day, but by night he is infamous cat-burglar The Leotard! Desired by women, envied by men! His life might have continued in this way until he is contacted by Nikos Furiopolous, of the Greek resistance. Furiopolous recruits him in the fight against the fascist overlord Dr Calamari!

With kid sidekick, The Kitten, at his side, can The Leotard crack the case, save the world and be back at the baccarat tables before dawn?

Now read on...
