Speed adjustments for distance (ie running calculators) are commonplace, and some calculators include factors such as temperature, wind, and hilliness. Does anyone have any data, or speculation, on how much difference rain can make to race (and/or training) speeds? It's not obvious to me, I can find a spot of drizzle to be quite relaxing and cooling, but a proper downpour (inc heavy wet shoes and running through puddles) must surely be quite a hindrance.

Muddie
Not at the [lack of] speed I run! Though avoiding puddles, going through slippy slidey mud and over slithery wooden bridges/planks can slow one down somewhat ![]() You might find this interesting faant.com |
