Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It’s a bit out the way as well but buses do run there from the city centre. I can’t think where a nearby hotel would be.

Edinburgh isn’t well catered for With Parkrun’s.

We stayed in the Balerno Inn for Oriam, not up to much, but cheap & clean, all we wanted was a bed & shower. Never even breakfasted there, went to a cafe along the road.

There are actually quite a few buses from the city out to the campus where Oriam is, but they tend to be a wee bit further apart at weekends when there aren't loads of students coming in.

There's even a Mariott hotel on campus about 100m from the start but not so convenient for getting into town later (although quite a high probability of bumping into the Scotland football or rugby teams (male and/or female...)

Or I can give you the keys to my office and you can kip on the sofas in reception, it's only another 200m to the start... :-)

A closer alternative to the Balerno Inn is the Riccarton Inn,

riccartoninn.co.uk
probably around a mile to the start.
Not been in for a wee while but it had been bought over and done up not long before lockdown, not sure about the prices but I hear the food is pretty good.

We stayed in Balerno to ditch the car on the Friday & go and see a few things at the Festival.

Jason Byrne the comedian & that Hibs 1902 play in Leith, both excellent.
