1975 A blind woman who fell twenty feet into Torquay harbour was rescued unhurt after her guide dog plunged in to help her.
An office worker saw the woman walk off the quay edge and called a couple of men to rescue her. The dog was swimming around her, pushing against the wall to keep her safe.
Two thoughts occur to me: firstly, the guide dog didn't do that great a job in the first place; secondly, given that the woman was holding its lead, I wonder how voluntary its rescue plunge was?
Using his billhook, Dio rakes about in the murky waters, and fishes out the next clue.

It's the blind leading the blind here. Let me have a feel for the next clue.

(Try reimagining the scenario now, where "BW" was Barry White.)

I'm remind of the joke that has the punchline "I wait until the lead goes slack"

I reckon the dog had gone off to get an ice cream and told her to stay put.
