Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Question: As there is no rugby at the moment, and not likely to be restarting until after the official start of the already postponed cricket season, when do I switch from "The Bay, home of Nottingham Rugby", to "Trent Bridge home of Samit Patel"?

I moved from Coronation Park to The Cora at the start of March, even though the rugby club are still using the park.

I guess I'm going to spend the next three months staring at the playing field of the North Cambridge Academy, whatever they choose to get up to over there. Mostly soccer at the moment, there should be some cricket after the school holidays if they stay open.

In this part of town they could be up to anything - badger baiting, hare coursing, dog fights. But mostly drug dealing.

I'll go with Trent Bridge for the moment, still the nearest International cricket ground to the office.

If I did have to stay at home, I'd have a difficult choice. I live directly opposite a park, which contains an Army Cadet hut and a playground, but never hosts anything remotely like organised sport. The last time I saw a ball kicked on there, it was me and mini Nico when rugby training got cancelled. Turn left out of my drive and I reach the home of Eastwood Town CC. Turn right and in 200 yards I enter the Hall Park football pitches, home to what's left of local football, and the back entrance of Hall Park Academy school fields, with football, rugby and hockey pitches marked out.

Peter Frampton solos on nine instruments in barely tolerable performance by Wurzels and forces Sting to comply with a horrible setlist in Cardiff.
