Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

A couple of Cinnabar moths caught my eye this morning. Apparently common, I can't recall seeing them before. They are very distinctive with their crimson wings.

Lovely idea for a thread!
We've left part of the lawn wild to encourage butterfly & moths and was great sitting out there on Sunday seeing more than I have in the garden for years. Still not that many , but more!

Regrettably we don't get any badgers and not seen foxes for a while, but the hedgehogs are back again this year. I've resisted the urge to check both hedgehog houses so far this year.
Did have 3 in the garden earlier in the year but only seen two together recently.

There was a wasp bike in the bird box on the side of our shed. They’ve all left, so I investigated it. Amazing thing.

Cool. We had one last year in the we'd. Accidentally disturbed it with the strimmer. I didn't hang about long!

We went on holiday, then when we came home a badger had destroyed it.

We noticed a wasps nest on the fence by the side of our house on just this Wednesday gone. We can't believe we hadn't spotted it before, although it is quite camouflaged. It's a beautiful thing.

Doh! Writing the above has made me realise which wood they scraped to make the nest 😆 Obvious, isn’t it!
