Crikey I remember Benjy's.
Always thought of it as a sort of prototype Gregg's.
They used to do a tea/coffee served in a pint sized Styrofoam cup, if you had milk in your tea/coffee you would end up with a cold slug of milk sitting at the bottom of the cup.

In my drinking days they were a godsend for toast in the morning if I had a hangover. You've got the right outfit - we had one near us when I was in America Square. It was hugely popular first thing. Don't think anyone ever bought lunch from there unless they were (a) on their way back from 'an off site client meeting' or (b) after a few days off.
I suspect people bought the prawn salad, showed it to people, threw it away then disappeared off to Lords or the Oval for the rest of the week.
