I have been running since I was at primary school, getting some vague kick out of cross country running. At secondary school the towpaths of the River Thames and the Chiltern Hills were where I put in the miles. University took me to London, and the streets of south-east London and the Thames River Path allowed me to escape the stresses of studying and my early days as a Teacher. In my mid-twenties I moved to Bromley and Singapore and continued to run intermittently. Now I find myself striving for a quicker marathon time than ever, whilst pacing out the miles on the glorious flat paths of The Netherlands.
