Injury April 2011 at Radcliffe 10k which lingered on and on. Eventually diagnosed with bilateral stress fractures in September 2011 after an MRI scan. Had two months off running. Sent for a DEXA bone density scan December 2011 and given calcium supplement. Told not to do any running at all and told that the fractures may or may not heal...! Helpful.
Ticking over with very gentle runs twice a week and time on the cross trainer.
March 2012- Slowly gathering information. Lots of stretches exercises and orthotics - careful reintroduction of running and awaiting next MRI 29th March. Will the bones be healed or not??!!
