I have been a runner on and off since I was at school but I have kept it up now since about Jan 2008 after me and a mate made a drunken challenge to do the Belfast marathon that year.
He did it. I got the splats and couldn't go.
Still I was able to do the inaugral Newry marathon a few weeks later. Nightmare.
I just kept at it since then and joined Up & Runners in March 2009. Turns out this was a very good decision as I have gained a PB in every race since.
