Hey, Andy here. Currently with University of Ulster Interested in a career within sports coaching, as well as elite athletics track & distance.
I began my career in running in 2007 developing an interest in exercise and fitness, beginning on the cycling bike, I then stepped up 2 the challange of becoming a distance runner. Now im out training 3-4 times / week - (speed: interval, hill, tempo, & long-distance training). In my University athletics club I have my own coach preparing & Evaluating personal training programmes for me. 2012 - I'm aiming for middle and long distance race records so currently upping the mileage and looking for new events, Olympics-related for volunteering and business opportunities to arise and work with through University. Training-wise: Seeing the times record in following:- 5k, 5m, 10k, 10m, Half-marathon, 15m, 20m, 22mile)
At present (2009), my attention is on my 1st 'marathon' in Belfast,(NI). So currently following a set out programme and recording logs of both 'speed' & 'distance' training.
Update: (2010/11): Following the marathon @ 3h.54 @ Belfast, I worked towards sprinting 100m/400m while competing in Dublin: Maynooth Uni Relays: 1.1mile: (5mins:12secs), following on from that decided to continue enduranced based training on the bike with middle distance training for: 1500m - 15k , currently seeing the times come down with fair amount of goals to achieve before ''making it!''.. Enjoying the journey as always
2013 - February and back on track, first 18miler of the year and the mileage boosting
