Have been running as my main exercise activity for nearly 20 years having played football previously. Although I did the odd event in those days (first HM in 2010) it is only since meeting my current wife that I've started to do a lot more, joining the running club that she belongs to. Since then we've travelled the world doing various events (recently the parkrun at Etna) and ourlives seem to revolve around what race we have coming up. I try to run 3 to 4 times a week and align that with going to the gym 3 times a week. Somewhere in there I crowbar in a couple of rest days (having recently turned 60 - although I am demanding a recount). Ive got a best 5K time of 22:05, a best 10K of 50:00 (that sub-50 miss still rankles) and a best HM of 1:50:25. I still delude myself I can bring these down.
