First decent park run of the year (the one we did after my birthday night out was a shambles!) and I'm really happy to say that I finally broke the 20min barrier. I knew I had to hit a fast pace quickly, which wasn't a problem, but the challenge arises when trying to maintain that. My first two miles were almost a carbon copy of each other, but my pace dropped by about 10secs in the last mile. I had an idea that I might break the barrier as I turned to climb the last hill, and by the time I got to the brow I knew that I was going to do it and managed to enjoy the last few metres. Very, very happy to have achieved this today, and I hope that I can take it a step further and break 19.30. Got the Arena race here in a few weeks too so this was a great trial for that.
